Legacy Reverse Mortgage started operations as a division of Mortgage Services Unlimited. MSU was established in 1994 and is based in Dallas, Texas. While MSU is focused entirely on traditional purchase and refinance loans, Legacy Reverse Mortgage was formed to bring committed and focused attention to the unique needs of the reverse mortgage customer.

In 2006 Legacy Reverse Mortgage, Inc was created as a separate corporation to continue to focus on the needs of reverse mortgage customers.

David Ponder is the founder of Legacy Reverse Mortgage, Inc. He has more than 20 years experience in the mortgage business, working with many of the country’s top lenders in both the origination and servicing sides of the business. 

David began Legacy Reverse Mortgage to use his expertise to focus on the needs of seniors and help them improve their financial futures. His extensive background in the mortgage business allows him to better serve his clients and help them completely understand the reverse mortgage process. He works to first understand each individual’s situation and determine if a reverse mortgage is an appropriate solution for them. He then assists each client with implementing the solution appropriate to their needs. 

David holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin. He and his family live in Carrollton, TX where they are active members of Prestonwood Baptist Church.
